Flexible Capital Fund, L3C
Janice St. Onge currently serves President of the Flexible Capital Fund, L3C (the “Flex Fund”). The Flex Fund is a mission-based investment fund providing near equity financing to companies in Vermont’s food system, forest products, and clean technology sectors. Janice brings a 30+ years of experience in management, business / technical assistance, and financing.
As President of the Flex Fund, Janice manages day-to-day operational activities including deal flow, due diligence, and portfolio / financial management. Prior to launching the Flex Fund, Janice served as the co-director of the Vermont Business Center at the University of Vermont, as well as the Technology Business Development Director for the Vermont Department of Economic Development. She spent 9 years at Peoples United Bank, in retail management, credit analysis, real estate commercial lending and organizational development.
As Assistant Vice President at Peoples United Bank, she originated and managed a $21 million commercial loan portfolio during her tenure. Janice currently serves on the Vermont Small Business Development Center Advisory Board, the Clean Energy Development Fund Board, Women’s Investment Network, and the Slow Money Vermont Organizing Committee. A former freestyle skiing competitor, Janice was the first woman in the U.S. to be certified as an International Ski Federation (FIS) freestyle skiing judge for World Cup and Olympic level competitions.
